Rebecca Phillipps (Ngāi Tahu) is a Senior Lecturer in Anthropology at the University of Auckland. Rebecca’s research interests include material culture analysis, archaeological theory, landscape archaeology, and digital solutions in archaeology. She is particularly interested in promoting new approaches to Māori material culture analysis in New Zealand and understanding human environment interrelationships in Egypt in responses to Holocene climate change. She has worked extensively in Egypt, particularly in the Fayum region and on the Ahuahu Great Mercury Island Archaeological Project. Rebecca is assistant editor of the Journal of Pacific Archaeology.
