Quentin Atkinson is a Professor of Psychology at the University of Auckland. Quentin’s research uses lab and field experiments, computer modelling and evolutionary theory to investigate the evolution of human culture and cognition, including the origins of linguistic diversity, the function of religion, the psychology of climate change and why political systems vary the way they do around the globe. He won the University of Auckland’s Vice-Chancellor’s Research Excellence Medal in 2016, is a former Fellow of Wolfson College, Oxford, and Associate Editor of the journal Evolution and Human Behavior.
