Dr Priya Subramanian is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Auckland. Her research focuses on looking at self-organisation and emergent phenomena in diverse physical systems such as thermoacoustics, fluid flows, and soft matter systems from a pattern formation perspective.

Priya looks to rigorously re-purpose techniques and methods from diverse areas such as computational algebraic geometry, topological data analysis, equivalent bifurcation theory and nonlinear dynamics and apply them to minimal models in order to understand the mechanisms that produce the wide variety of observed behaviours.
