Marcus Frean
Principal Investigator
Marcus Frean is an Associate Professor in the School of Engineering and Computer Science at Victoria University of New Zealand. Marcus’s research lies in two fields – machine learning, and theoretical biology. His work has been about understanding computational collectives whose constituents are adapting or learning, leading to some form of self-organisation on the part of the whole system, whether that is a biological population or a single learning machine composed of many similar parts.
