Leilani is a lecturer in the Faculty of Heath and Environmental Science at AUT. Previously she was the R.T. Shannon Assistant Curator in Entomology at Tāmaki Paenga Hira Auckland War Memorial Museum. Leilani completed her PhD in behavioural ecology and evolution at the University of Auckland and her research interests include biodiversity, animal behaviour and relationships between New Zealanders and native flora and fauna.
